How long does it take to install an air conditioner?
A typical residential installation (mini split) takes between 3 and 6 hours, depending on the complexity of the site. Commercial or larger projects may take longer.
Do I need permits to install air conditioning in Costa Rica?
It depends on the type of project and the municipality. We'll confirm this during your estimate, based on the specifics of your case.
Can I install the equipment myself?
We don't recommend it. Installation involves handling refrigerant, electrical connections, and heat load calculations; an incorrect installation can damage the equipment or void the manufacturer's warranty.
How often should I service my equipment?
We recommend every 6 months for residential use and every 3 to 4 months for commercial use. See our preventive maintenance guide for more details.

A visit to your space, calculation of the appropriate equipment size, recommendation of the ideal system, and a no-obligation quote.
What warranty do your installations have?
The warranty varies depending on the equipment and service contracted; we'll share the specific details during your quote.
Do I need a special electrical connection?
Most split units need their own circuit with the right breaker, and many larger units work at 220 V. During the estimate we check your electrical panel and tell you if any adjustment is needed before installation.
Where will the outdoor unit go?
It needs a place with good ventilation, a solid base or wall bracket, access for maintenance and as short a distance as practical to the indoor unit. We also consider noise toward bedrooms and neighbors and, in condominiums, the building's rules.
How should I prepare for installation day?
Clear the area under the indoor unit location and the path to where the outdoor unit will go, and make sure someone can give access to the electrical panel. If you live in a condominium, let the administration know in advance about the work and any access we will need.
How long does an air conditioner last?
With regular maintenance, a well-installed split unit commonly lasts 10 to 15 years. Units near the coast, units that run most of the day and units that rarely get maintenance usually last less.
Does installation require drilling the wall?
Usually yes: a split unit needs one opening of a few centimeters for the refrigerant lines, the cable and the drain. We place it carefully, seal it to keep out water and insects, and clean up the work area before leaving.
